So here goes my first ever product review post… I don’t know how this is going to turn out but I hope you all enjoy it!
Scharwzkopf Got2b Oil-licious tame & shine Styling Oil
Boots £4.19 (50ml)
I bought this oil as a substitute for another oil that I use on my hair when styling. I suffer from crazy, dry, frizzy, rough hair, the sort that doesn’t do anything that you want it to! When styling my hair, after I have washed it I like to apply an oil (usually Argan Oil) to give my hair a boost and added shine that is non existent! Upon first application of this oil, it came out a scary bright orange colour, but it smells absolutely amazing! I ran it through my hair and at first instance my hair went mega oily! A few minutes later though my hair was left smooth and glossy without that horrible greasy look due to it’s “non-greasy formula”. This oil is definitely my new favourite, and I recommend everybody to try it! It certainly lives up-to it’s claims of being instantly absorbed, smoothing and taming hair.
Nivea Men Sensitive Hydro Gel
Boots £6.99 (50ml)
I have oily/combination skin so I wanted to find a gel formulated moisturiser that wouldn’t leave my face shiny and greasy as my previous favourite (Loreal Men Pure & Matte) had started drying out my skin. It comes in a handy pump and the 0% alcohol is great for using after a shave to leave your skin smooth but not burning to the touch. The “non greasy formula” is definitely instantly absorbed into the skin and the enrichment due to added Chamomile and Witch Hazel moisturse the skin without leaving a greasy sheen to your face. Also I have noticed that this moisturising gel reduces pore size and has started getting rid of fine marks on my face which is an added bonus! The only downside would be that for my skin type it lasts around 8 hours before a sheen starts to appear on the skin.
Garnier Pure Active Intensive Charcoal Scrub
Boots £4.99 (150ml)
Charcoal is the new star ingredient in skincare, it is ultra-absorbent and helps to grab and get rid of dirt deep within our pores. My previous favourite (Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser) just wasn’t getting deep enough into the pores for me. So I thought I’d try a cleanser with exfoliating properties in order to clean out my pores from deep within… It contains 2% Salicylic Acid and Salicylic Acid gets deep within pores and breaks up the cells in order to remove them effectively and also soothes stressed skin. It helps to fade marks which I found good as it is already helping to fade a scar in the middle of my forehead. I would certainly recommend this cleanser to anyone with acne-prone skin and oily skin as it definitely helps to remove all the oil and dead skin cells however someone with dry skin might find this too abrasive.
Biore Ultra Deep Cleanisng Pore Strips
Boots £7.99 to £3.99 (6 strips)
Saving the best product till last! I can’t express how amazing these nose strips are! I’ve used it once only and instantly saw a massive improvement! It claims to unclog pores and achieve a deep clean and it certainly does that! I’ve always been scared to use pore strips as I thought it resembled sticking tape onto your face and ripping it off! These strips however contain Witch Hazel and Tea Tree Oil which leaves your nose and surrounding areas smooth and moisturised. You simply have to wet your nose and apply the strip and peel off once hardened after 15 minutes, the results are shocking of how much is actually stuck in our pores in places we would ever think of! Although they are more on the pricey side I am definitely impressed with how effective these pore strips are at getting deep into the pores. I recommend using warm water before applying the strips and splashing on cold water afterwards in order to close the pores so that more dirt can’t get in as easily.
I hope these product reviews were useful and would love to know your comments and experiences with any of these products and also any other products you would like for me to review!
